While Jessica Biel seems to have taken time off to raise her baby Silas. Here are some other things you may not know about Biel. Biel Started Acting When She Was Eight Biel moved around a lot as a kid but her love of the musical "Annie" led to her auditioning and being cast as an understudy in a regional theater production of the show at the age of eight. From there she began modeling and won an acting scholarship to the Young Actor's Space in Los Angeles. Biel Got Her Big Break on the WB Biel was just a 14 years old when she got the part of the rebellious teen Mary Camden on the WB show 7th Heaven. She stayed with the show full-time for the first five seasons and then reduced her part in Season 6 while attending college. She returned for several appearances the following year and one more time in Season 10 before leaving the show for good. Biel Posed Semi-Nude to Change Her Image Aside from going to school, part of the reason Biel's role was reduced on 7th Heaven was because of a bold choice she made in 2000. At the age of 17 she posed semi-nude for a cover shot of Gear magazine. She turned more than a few heads and angered the powers that be at the religious-themed drama. She was looking to get out of her contract and partially got her wish when she was made a recurring star rather than a series regular in Season 6. Biel Made Her Pro Singing Debut as a Doll in 2009 She fulfilled a lifelong dream of “singing” professionally when she took the stage in Los Angeles in 2009 to play Sgt. Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. She starred opposite Broadway legend Brian Stokes Mitchell, who played Sky Masterson. The rest of the star-studded cast included Scott Bakula, Beau Bridges, Ellen Greene and Ken Page. Biel is a Mountain Climber She has always been very athletic - her hobbies include soccer, running, yoga and hiking - and has supported various charities throughout her career. But in 2010 she scaled new heights with her philanthropy when she and some other celebs climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness of the Children's Safe Drinking Water Program and Water for People's Play Pumps Technology. The Summit on the Summit lasted seven days.
