The Passionistas Project presents the annual Passionistas Persist Award to someone who advocates for women around the world. They are humanitarians, icons, social entrepreneurs, volunteers and more. The Passionistas are on a mission to inspire women and build a community of women who are supporting each other and standing shoulder to shoulder in the fight for women's equality.

The 2020 The Passionistas Persist Award was given to actress Bellamy Young (Prodigal Son and Scandal) to honor her work as an Ambassador for CARE. The award presentation took place on Sunday, August 23 as the final event of the three-day long Passionistas Project Women’s Equality Summit 2020. The presentation of the award will be followed by a live virtual Q&A with Young.

Bellamy was the perfect choice for this inaugural award because of the incredibly important work she has done over the last two years as the out-front spokesperson for CARE. We want to share Bellamy and CARE's mission to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. These values perfectly align with our focus for the summit to arm our audience with the tools to fight for women's equality worldwide. “We need to continue to shine a spotlight on gender inequality around the world and fight to lift up the voices of women and girls who are too often silenced,” said Young, who has been a CARE Ambassador since 2019.
